Grand Collomia Seeds - Collomia Grandiflora - Beautiful & Pollinator Friendly
Quantity: 100 Seeds
Grand Collomia, aka Collomia Grandiflora is an annual member of the Phlox family, Polemoniaceae. It lives as an annual, and is native to Southwest BC and the rest of Western North America. The plants grow between 1 and 3 feet tall, and bloom in late spring/early summer. The flowers are strikingly beautiful and rich in nectar, so they'll attract a wide range of pollinators too. Collomia makes for a very beneficial ground cover, or addition to any flower garden. Although the plants are annuals, they'll readily self seed, so the patch can expand over the years; if this isn't desired, the spent blooms can easily be cut back before the they set seed. The plants are resistant to extreme weather, insects, and deer; they don't need much care other than a regular watering and some mulch.
All seeds are organic and open pollinated.

Growing Instructions
Collomia seeds may be started in pots in the spring, but prefer to be directly sown into the ground. If sown indoors, plant the seeds in a sterile growing medium; most available seed starting soils should do the job nicely; we use sunshine mix (peat moss and perlite). The soil should be made moist, but not damp. Sow the seeds 1/8 inch below the soil surface, or even on the surface. Store in a warm area until tiny sprouts emerge from the soil. Once germinated, and the first true leaf has formed, it's time to pot up to a larger container that contains a good quality potting soil. Transplant to their final location when the nighttime temperatures are consistently 8°C or higher.
