Motherwort Seeds - Leonurus Cardiaca - Medicinal & Perennial

Quantity: 50 Seeds

Motherwort, aka Leonurus Cardiaca, is a member of the mint family, Lamiaceae. It originates in Europe, and is perennial down to zone 3. The leaves from this plant make an excellent medicinal tea. When taken internally, Motherwort is traditionally used to treat heart palpitations caused by nervousness and anxiety as well as help with womens issues such as menstruation, childbirth, uterine issues, and menopause. It is said that Motherwort offers better sedative effects than vallerian. For best effects, the plant is typically harvested in Early August or when in full bloom.

This plant thrives in many environments, but prefers to have good sunshine and a decent amount of moisture in the soil. It doesn't grow well in the shade, so partial to full sun is recommended for the healthiest plants. The flowers are a great source of nectar so they attract bees and other pollinators alike. Because of this, planting Motherwort anywhere near the garden will increase pollination of crops and other plants in the area.

All seeds are organic and open pollinated.
