Mountain Arnica Seeds - Arnica Montana - Medicinal & Perennial

Quantity: 15 Seeds

Mountain Arnica, or Arnica Montana, is a member of the Aster family, Asteraceae. It's a perennial down to zone 5, but can be grown as an annual everywhere else. It thrives in many different environments, including poor soil conditions, but prefers to have lots of sunshine and a decent amount of moisture in the soil. It doesn't grow well in the shade, so partial to full sun is recommended for the healthiest plants.

Arnica has a long history and supporting science for its medicinal uses. The Flowers are what is typically used, and they are harvested when fully opened, and then dried for use when needed. A poultice of the flowers is used to treat skin conditions such as bruises and sprains. It is very effective. It's important to note that the medicinal compounds found in Arnica are toxic when consumed, so can only be used externally, and not on areas where the skin has been broken. This being said, it is otherwise completely safe and effective to use.

All seeds are organic and open pollinated.
