Waltham Butternut Squash Seeds - Cucurbita Moschata - Delicious & Reliable
Quantity: 25 Seeds
Waltham may very well be the best variety of Butternut Squash. This heriloom was developed in the 1940's and can withstand vine borers better than other kinds of squash. The plants reliably put out 4-5 fruits that weigh between 4 and 5 pounds each. the fruits have small seed cavities, and thick necks. The flesh is very sweet, and tastes excellent in roasted dishes, pies, and soup. The fruits can be eaten immediately when picked, but taste much sweeter after curing indoors for a couple months.
All seeds are organic and open pollinated.

Growing Instructions
For the highest yields, It’s best to start Squash seeds directly in the ground or in large pots when the soil temperature is at least 18ºC, or sometime around mid May. Sow the seeds 1/4 - 1/2 inch below the soil surface. Try to sow in their chosen growing location because they don't like to be transplanted. These plants prefer to grow in full sun, and will handle just about any type of soil or PH. The plants have good disease and pest resistance.
